يهدف هذا البحث إلى دراسة العلاقة بين متّبعي مدرسة الحكمة الإلهية (خصوصًا الجزء المعني بالأمور العامة) وعلم الكلام. وفي حين تتفاوت آراء جميع حكماء هذه المدرسة حول الكلام، ثمّة ما يكفي من وحدة المنظور بينهم لتبرير دراسة كهذه. كما ميّز الباحث بين فترات أربع في تاريخ الصراع بين الفلسفة والكلام في الإسلام وتأثيرهما المتبادل. وأوضح أسباب الملا صدرا التي تحول دون وصول علم الكلام إلى جوهر الحقيقة الدينية.

This article aims to study the relation between the followers of the school of al-Ḥikma al-ilāhiyyah (especially that part concerned with the general principles), and Kalām. Although the view of all the Ḥukama’ of this school concerning Kalām is not the same, there is enough unity of view to warrant such a study. The author distinguishes between four periods of the history of the struggle and reciprocal influence between Falsafah and Kalām in Islam. He clarifies Mulla Sadra’s reasons for holding that kalam can’t reach the heart of religious truth.
